Jon Mattox

Jon Mattox is an American multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter, and record producer from Southern California. He has been a session musician playing drums for a large variety of artists and bands including recordings or performances with Rob Halford, Joan Osborne, Roy Z, Days Between Stations, Nels Cline, Mike Watt, Young MC, Freebo, Lee Sklar, Geza X, Doug Pettibone, John Fumo, Shelby Lynne and many others. He was a member of The Young Dubliners from 1993-1999 and recorded and toured extensively with the group.

Mattox owns Bright Orange Studios which is a high end recording studio and music production facility, and also is president of Bright Orange Records which has released music from the following artists: Alpha Cat, Darryl Blood, The Conductors, Brian Cram, The Conductors, Days Between Stations, Simon Lynge, Jim Marcotte, Jon Mattox, One Trick Pony, Sue Paine, Jason Quicksall, 7K, Heather Stewart, Uni, Jason Whitton, Erinn Williams, Sterling Witt, and The Young Dubliners.

Composing

Mattox has licensed his music for the following major movie trailers: Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Apollo 18 (film), Scream 4, Tangled, I Love You Phillip Morris, Buried (film), Inception, Date Night, The Losers (film), Diary of a Wimpy Kid (film), Up in the Air (film), Brothers (2009 film), Fast & Furious, Fighting, Dragonball Evolution, My Bloody Valentine 3D, Gran Torino, Traitor, Pride and Glory, Death Race, 21, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, No Country for Old Men, Beowulf, Hostel 2, Déjà Vu, The Legend of Zorro, Outlaw, xXx: State of the Union, Domino, Catch a Fire, Behind Enemy Lines II: Axis of Evil and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Music licensed for television, tv promos, video games, and advertising include Burn Notice, The Closer, Turner Network Television, TAG Heuer, and Vogue.

In 2007, Mattox scored the feature film "Young Single, & Angry", and also did the music supervision.

Mattox has endorsement contracts with Istanbul Agop Cymbals, Aquarian Accessories, Factory Metal Percussion, and Rhythmtech percussion.
